i do a lot of urban exploration. which is exploring abandoned buildings and drain tunnels, basically anywhere that you're not supposed to go. so i film in a lot of low light conditions. i had a real nice JVC video camera, with a wide angel lens, and i used it to shoot a few abandoned buildings and then edited the footage a little and made some short videos. they're on youtube if you want to check them out....
.....anyways, my camera was stolen and now im looking to buy a new one. i want to get something nice, possibly high def, in order to make better quality videos, and maybe even a half decent dvd at some point. my problem is this though, everyone i've looked at has gotten bad reviews like...
1. not good in low light conditions (anything not 3-ccd)
2. short recording time (hard drive, and dvd cameras)
3. record format not supported in editing software (sony)
so if anyone knows of any good video cameras i'd love to hear about them. im looking to spend up to $1400 or so, or else i'd buy a gl2 or one of canon's other high end cameras.
