Here is my situation. After several minutes of watching TV or DVR recordings, the screen will go black. While the image will eventually return, usually within 10 seconds, the problem will continue with much shorter periods of time between blackouts.
I have a Cox Communications issued Motorola DCH3416 dual tuner HD DVR box, a Pioneer 819H AV reciever, and a Samsung LCD 46" A650.
I have connected the Motorola DCH3416 to the Pioneer 819H via HDMI under the TV HDMI input. I ran an HDMI from the Pioneer 819H to the Samsung A650 also via HDMI. I use the Pioneer for video switching to consolidate wires running to the TV.
The DCH3416 is in an open-front cubby of an entertainment center. The Pioneer 819H is on the top shelf of the right portion of the entertainment center. I have been keeping the door of this section open to allow air movement.
Of note, the Sony Playstation 3 which is connected in the exact same fashion only to the Blu-ray Disc HDMI input of the Pioneer 819H, does not seem have the blackout problem. This makes me think the problem is either in the HDMI cables, or the Motorola DCH3416.
Has anyone had any similar problems with a setup like this or any of the same equipment? Any ideas what I should try first?
Thanks.
