I own an Artec DR-RE12A DVD Recorder. From their web site it writes.
"DVD Recording is here and it is no longer a previlidge only for computer user on a complicated and complexed PC environment. With one touch of a button, you can recorder all your favorate TV show, backup your DV Camcorder recordings, Your Home make Video, and even your old VHS tapes on to a high capacity DVD media. Up to 6 hours of recording into one inexpensive DVD!"
I paid 119US for it and it does quite well. You could hook up your VHS, camcorder to it, press record on the recorder and play the tapes.
Shop around since there are many such models out there with far too many features for me to discuss.
What is the current best hardware/software combination, under $500, to convert my old VHS/8mm videotapes to DVD format? I am not looking for something that requires a highly technical apptitude.
