vga or s-video for laptop

Hi, i wan?t to buy a cable to connect my laptop to the tv and i wan?t to know what of them are better.
Should i buy a vga cable or a s-video out cable?
(my tv has vga and s-video out).
I wan?t to know wich of them give better quality.
It?s a 32" lcd-tft screen.

ok, so i?ll buy a vga cable, but what cable do i need to have the sound on my home cinema?
My laptop is a dell inspiron 6400.
Does the cable have any name?

Not sure. One end is on the laptop so that's known.
