General discussion

VGA/DVI

I have a Proview 263HX LCD tv in my bedroom that I would like to use as my computer monitor, also. Since I can use either the Component or DVI for HD programming, which would be the less complicated and least expensive way to go. There is a ton of info on the internet about such conversions but I really know what is bullcorn and what is for real. I got soaked for a $189 HDMI cable on my big HDTV in the den when component cables are just about as good so I don't want to pull another ***** like this. Can somebody help me?

Having checked out the specs of your monitor, the best route would be to go with DVI. I just purchased a Monster DVI-HDMI cable on ebay a couple of weeks ago for 60 bucks with shipping. buying a straight Monster DVI-DVI cable would probably cost you less since everyone these days is trying to buy HDMI cables.

Take a look at this example:

Depending on what length of cable you need, the most it'll run you is 60 bucks for a 13ft long. The referenced piece above is 6 feet long.
