Question

VG20 and VG30

Nov 9, 2013 10:11AM PST

Hi everyone,

This is my first post so excuse the noobiness.
Basically I am planning to buy a camera, have a few options to go with but I really like the VG series from sony.
I obviously prefer the VG30 to VG20, but I was wondering wether its worth the extra money. The difference is about 300-400 pounds .. so its quite a sum.

I also had another question If I get the VG30 with the SEL18200LE lens that comes with the VG20 ... would the mechanic zoom feature work ? Im just wondering as the VG30 body and SEL18200LE can work out at a decent price ....

Also if theres any other suggestions please let me know.

Wow, I had completely forgotten about that. I have since entered university where i study Media Arts, that old camera was at best a mid range consumer product. I have been using the V1E and FS100 for important occasions. But I would like a light good quality, also not too expensive, for corporate jobs etc.

My main question was whether the zoom function on the VG30 would work with SEL18200LE, which is not a motorised lens. As i have looked and read endless reviews about both the VG20 and VG30, given the difference in price of the body I don't mind spending a little extra to get the newer version but the lens is where the money difference really gets into it.

Since the question is that specific.

It's time to find the maker's web site and call them to ask it. I don't have these to look over and didn't hit the maker's site.

But here's my take on the makers. If they won't talk to you about the features then they don't deserve the sale.
