Apr 21, 2005 11:14AM PDT

you still don't tell us how OUR freedom was threatened by the popular uprising of Vietnam. How was OUR freedom threatened? What was done to secure AMERICA'S freedom? How was AMERICA'S freedom and democracy threatened by Vietnam?

- Collapse -
That question ...
Apr 21, 2005 11:16AM PDT

... has been asked and answered many, MANY, times over. Another 200 post thread isn't going to change anyone's mind.

How were we threatened?
Apr 21, 2005 11:45AM PDT

How was that a war for AMERICA'S freedom and democracy? HOW did the Vietnamese threatened OUR democracy and freedom? These are words that Mark used, not me.

It's easy to answer if you believe that OUR democracy really was in danger. And that is the only question. HOW and WHY?

They grabbed kids right out of high school and sent them on their 'Senior Trip'. They didn't ask poor kids if they wanted to get out of it like Cassious Clay and George 'I need more suntan'

If you refused, you went to Canada or Prison. Some choice huh?

Mom & Dad couldn't save you, you went. Anything else you want to know?

When you know you are "beating a dead horse," and when some of you can even state that you shouldn't be involved in a discussion because it is fruitless in regard to changing the opinion of another ----- THEN STEP AWAY FROM YOUR COMPUTER AND TAKE A BREAK!!

JMO - no offense meant to any particular poster.

I hate to hear of things like this
Apr 21, 2005 7:20AM PDT

What the man did was wrong, irregardless of what she did before. It is also things like this that become fodder for those looking to degrade our military personnel, past and present. For some, what he did, unfortunately, reflects on his "brothers."

I feel badly for him. His emotions regarding Fonda and her history go very deep. It's difficult to "turn the other cheek" in light of that. Sad

I agree with you, Jerry
Apr 21, 2005 12:54PM PDT

I hope my post didn't make anyone think I blame the man for his feelings, or that I would defend Fonda. That was not my intention.

I have no respect for her.

but I also feel the Veteran was wrong for his display.
