very special id3 tag conversion is needed

May 15, 2005 9:15PM PDT

ok. i have to do a very special task. i have lost all of my id3 tags (5000+ files). so i need to write them all again. the problem is, that i have my mp3s organized in folders per album. so there is a folder for every album named "artist-albumname" and inside are the files named "tracknumber-songname".

What i need now, is a programm that is able to copy the folder name into the tag's artist field and the file name into the tag's tile field. oh, and the programm should do this for more than one folder at once...

you see this is quite a challenging task, and i wasn't able to find a tag editor capable of this. So if you know one, please let me know, because im gettibg pretty frustrated right now.

Thx in advance

is it working?

have you checked this programme out? Is it working, and is it writing the track name without the ".mp3" to the name tag? Maybe you can report about the success of your efforts, cause I do have the same problems like you.

You can also try to use another quality and efficient program like mp3Tag Pro. I think that it'll solve your problem.
