Not Wifi, mine is a hard wired cable connection. Could you please help? My ISP says this is not their fault. They are asking me to have my computer checked by a hardware specialist, which I did but of no use at all.

Try it with another device. Any laptop, tablet or phone would be OK. If all devices are slow, it's the modem or the ISP that is to blame. Then on your next call, say that it happens on all devices, even your friends' laptops/tablets/phones that enjoy fast downloads everywhere else.

If all other devices are fine, it's your PC. If the hardware is OK, it's time to suspect software.

This problem actually starts at around 10 am India time and goes on until around 10 pm India time and happens daily. After 10 pm it's absolutely smooth sailing and then again this problem starts at around 10 am. I don't think this is ISP's problem, but some problem with computer hardware. How do you mean "even with a modem also"? There is no Internet without a modem.

And, sorry, I can't help you any more than I did in my post above, except adding that if your device is a laptop you should try it somewhere else, both during the day and after 10 PM. For a desktop, it's a little bit clumsy.

And I've never seen hardware issues that are time dependent like this. At most temperature dependent. My very first PC in 1987 didn't work if the temperature in the room was above 25 degrees Celsius.

Could it be one of your neighbours or family members using your WiFi to stream TV or play games the whole day? Then turn off the WiFi part of your modem, if you don't use it yourself.
