Dec 26, 2010 1:20AM PST

i have an asus f6v notebook. intel c2d cpu @ 2.26ghz, 4gb ram (3gb effective), radeon 3470 & vista 32. it has been reformatted twice, this is the 2nd time. i uninstalled all asus programs & all other pre-installed programs. i dont have vista disc so i cant go to repair mode. its been very slow lately even after reformatting twice. it boots very slow, sometimes not even booting. & when i type my password & get into the desktop it takes very slow too to get it going properly. i also dusted off the fan & filter of the heatsink for the cpu & gpu. pls help thx.

Next time the OS is installed use the factory restore media. I read you don't have a Vista disk so how did that format happen.

It's time to do this the right way. Order restore media today.

Since you have TWICE ...

made use of the ASUS system recovery to restore the laptop to its factory configuration and complain that "its been very slow lately " it would appear that most likely the problem is something on the order of MALWARE.

You say nothing of what you do to prevent, avoid, or cleanup malware infestations nor trojans or worms or viruses. What products/applications do you use?

Try downloading and running MALWAREBYTES and Super Anti-Spyware on your computer if you don't normally use them and if you do try running them in safe mode.

Also follow this link and READ the page then check your process list in TaskManager against the processes listed in the SAFE column. Write down what each is currently set to so you can revert if necessary. - http://www.blackviper.com/WinVista/servicecfg.htm

i used super anti-spyware & all i found was 21 adware tracking cookies in google chrome. still scanning with malware bytes, 90k objects scanned, found nothing. scan is still ongoing for 2 hours now.

where you say you ran them in Safe Mode - often that is the only way the two apps can find and eliminate some malware.

I also suggested you check the Black Viper link for Vista processes that can be disables or set to manual and don't see where you have tried it.
