Very Loud, Intemittent buzzing

by Spades86 / May 18, 2013 1:36 AM PDT

So, I got a Panasonic P50GT50 recently and I am not the happiest with it right now. I went from an old Samsung plasma, which I am now starting to miss to this updated Panasonic plasma. Now, occasionally, this TV has the loudest buzzing sound I have ever heard from a TV. I'm not talking about the continuous hum you normally get, I am talking like almost an annoying alarm clock going off to wake you up. It happens most of all when the TV is changing from commercial to commercial and to program again when the screen is blacked out. I am not talking channel surfing, I mean leave it on one channel and that's it.

I don't know if this is a manufacturer defect or if its normal for Panasonic. All I know is I had my Samsung for 4 years and I NEVER experienced this.

Can someone explain to me what is going on because I thought that Panasonic were suppose to be the best plasma TVs on the market but I am started to think otherwise...

Not normal

I'm assuming the sound is coming from the TV's own speakers and not a connected audio system. If this is the case, then return it as soon as you can for a replacement or refund. It's likely defective.

Okay, is the sound coming from the soundbar? What is the make and model of the soundbar? How is the soundbar connected to the TV (HDMI, optical/digital audio, RCA)? Please provide as many details as possible.

Soundbar not it..

I thought this too just in case and I did unplug for a period of time, but the noise does come straight from the TV. For your sake though,

Its a Vizio Soundbar w/ subwoofer. It is connected via optical cable.

However, like I said before, the soundbar has worked well before without problems. It sounds more like its coming behind the TV from what I have experienced/heard. I have heard things about possibly something being from wires, but I would not think that some wires would be the problem for such a loud noise. Maybe some noise, but not this much.

What else can I say...

I do have my Cable box and PS3 hooked up via HDMI cables and then of course there is the TV power cord. Other than that, the TV is not next to anything and is open air (to keep it cool since plasmas are a bit hot). Its on its own stand on my entertainment furniture, so its not mounted to the wall or anything like that. My last TV was actually bigger then this one (Mainly because of the bezel) and it fit fine with no problems for the 8 months we have been at our home. So... I don't know if its a faulty thing in the TV or if it might be repairable.. all I know is it gets embarrassing and slightly deafening loud.

It still sounds like a serious problem with the TV. It doesn't sound like something that you will be able to resolve on your own. Maybe someone else will chime in with another idea. Otherwise, get it exchanged if you can. If not, call in for a warranty repair asap.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
