very basic dialup question

How do I dialup Desktop or Laptop (2 computers)
one at a time
phone jack splitter or A or B switch
or just un-plug phone jack from the wall and plug into laptop

Any of those options work....

but some will create a P2P network and share that dialup.

In a nutshell, you connect the two PCs together, use one to dial in, and share the connection. Can be complicated. To keep it simple, do as you asked, plug the modem into whichever PC you want to use.
