Hey, I built a computer about a year ago and I've had troubles ever since. I would get alternating colored lines on my screen and I would have to restart my computer. I fixed it by updating my mobo and underclocking my graphics card, but I want to start overclocking. I'm almost certain it is either the graphics card or the psu. I've tested the ram and cpu and they have no problem. Running benchmarks, the graphics card doesn't line freeze until ~1200mhz, but games like Advanced Warfare and Payday 2 will freeze at 1080 (stock). Every other game runs fine now. I had to lower it to 1050 and everything runs fine, but slower than I want.
My rig...
- Club3D '14 Series 270x @ 1050mhz (1080 stock)
- fx-6300 @ 3.5ghz with turbo @ 4.1 (Stock cooler)
- G.Skill 2x8gb @1600mhz
- ASRock extreme3 R2.0
- Raidmax Thunder V2 535watt
- 500gb and 1tb harddrives
- Thermaltake case with good ventilation
