Seems to me that the tv is the culprit, not the PS2. If the tv is relatively new and you can return it, I would do so and exchange it for another one. If not, I'm afraid you might have to take it in for service.
I very recently purchased a Samsung LN-R238W LCD TV. 2 days after my purchase I had a problem with it. A thin green vertical line cuts through my screen. Heartache. I do not know why this is happening. My reasonings until now is.
1) Is it because of a power surge? (Even though I use a monster surge protector).
2) This television piece is defective.
Note: I have noticed that whenever i plug in my PS2 into it, its happened after that. But i am making an assumtion here.
How issue was resolved before: I switched off the power completely and unhooked my cord wire. I didn't have this problem for almost 10 days.
Any theories or answers would help.
I am having this problem again and have unhooked my television.
