Given "broadband satellite connection" I wonder if you have the usual issues of internet connection issues. But any bet I would make seems to fall apart since you claim other machines work.
There is no detail in your post to get a good handle on the issue but that sat connection is likely a big part of the issue since most programs expect the usual "other" connections. I don't expect any support house to know the answer given only what's in your post but the clues seem to point to your internet connection oddities.

I've been struggling for over a year to try to get this expensive program to work properly on a Dual G5 tower. Support has not been able to help at all. The problem is one of connecting to the internet with newer versions. As long as I use Version 3.5.3 things seem to be okay. As soon as I update to one of the later versions the program is unable to connect to the internet to register or to download updates. (Error 56 each time - can't connect to internet). I have other Mac computers on the same network with similar configurations that work just fine with the latest versions.
Because I have updated to Leopard, it becomes more important to have a functioning version of the latest software. Tech support for this program has been less than robust, but the latest times that I have gotten any hints have suggested that the problem is because I am using Earthlink "Scam Blocker". I think they may have meant "Spam Blocker" but this is a web based filtering system not installed on the local machine. and as I noted, my other computers work just fine. But because they insisted this was a likely problem I turned it off completely and even tried bypassing my broadband satellite connection, but the problem persists. It seems nearly certain to me that it is a local machine configuration problem and not a global network problem with "Spam Blocker"!
I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times, each time removing all preferences and associated files and reregistering, and every time of dozens, I must return to 3.5.3 on this single computer.
Has anyone had any similar experience or have any clues as to how this might be fixed? I have looked at MacUpdate Desktop which works just fine on this system, but I prefer Version Tracker and I paid for it for a two year subscription, and have it working great on the other machines, so I would really like it to work properly.
Alternately, does anyone know of any support resources or forum for this program other than emailing version tracker? Any help much appreciated.
