Time to move on, amigo. It's a decade old model. A mobile device that old is sure to break down eventually.
The LG VX8350 phone has problems with the flip top hinges. They separate from the body of the phone. The phone has been modified and the hinge problem addressed. LG and Verizon both were aware of the problem but kept the phone in their supply chains. I told Verizon that regardless when a customer purchased the phone, the company should replace it, no questions asked due to the defect. Check the internet for confirmation. Verizon's response was not to respond, not to communicate and not to address a legitimate worthless service, defective product issue. Consider T-Mobile as an alternative when you make your next mobile phone decision.
This suggestion is based on a Costco product manager who has the current updated phone, which he likes. He is only sticking with Verizon due to incentives provided to him through Costco. T-Mobile was his recommendation based on his past experience with the company.
