Verizon Treo 650 and Lexus RX 350

by hkydds / October 5, 2006 12:32 AM PDT

I just got a Lexus RX 350 and I was able to connect my Verizon Treo 650 with my car via bluetooth but the connection gets dropped after about 15 seconds. Any ideas about how to solve this problem??

I would appreicate learning anything that you may find out. I also just bought a RX350, but could not get my Treo 650 to connect. The phone said then connection was succesful, but the SUV did not. The dealer attributed it to the phone, saying they could not figure out why mine and other Treo's had this problem.

I don't know what I did but now my Treo 650 links up with my RX 350 and stays connected. I was able to transfer all the numbers in my Treo's phone book without a problem.

What you have to do is once your Treo says the bluetooth connection was established, make a call with your phone even though the car doesn't seem to have the connection made. The call should go through the car and from that point on, the bluetooth connection will be established automatically when you start your car.

The problem that I had was that although the connection was made successfully each time (as the NAV screen always had the message that said Bluetooth connection was mad successfully), the connection would drop after about 15 secs. For some reason, now it stays connected. As I said above, I'm not sure what I did but now it works great!

Thanks for the update. I am still in Bluetooth hell, but will try what you suggested. I have yet to have the SUV NAV screen say that the connection was successful, but there seems to be hope!

Sure, of course, blame it on the phone... I hate it when dealers don't bother to know their product.

Glad you guys got it working, on your own.

Umm, maybe it was a problem with the phone. It sounded like these guys see this happen occasionally with Treos, not always. The glitch could very well lie with the phone.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
