Question

Verizon.net Mail Support On AOL, Ending???

by SamuelS / December 4, 2017 9:57 AM PST

Hello all,

I just received word, from an IT person, that AOL starting in 2018, will no longer support verizon.net email addresses?

Does anyone have any information to this effect or if this is true or not? I need to prepare my business to address this change ASAP instead of waiting until the last minute.

If this is fact, any estimated timelines available? I cannot find anything on this.

TIA - bo1953

Rob, thank you for the response.

I may have not made my post clear enough based on your response, the firm has moved the verizon.net account to AOL earlier this year.

Now the concern is, which I Am looking for confirmation and cannot find and have emailed AOL about too, is AOL shedding the verizon.net accounts early next year as 'rumoured' or nothing to worry about, at least for now or shall we move forward with establishing our own domain so as not to worry about this situation going forward??

Thank you again for your insight and advice...

Since you moved from Verizon to AOL

There is no issue here as you completed the move.

Can you share what's after the @ symbol in your email address as a check?

It is verizon.net, we chose to retain the verizon address.

Thank you again for the input and info.

That will work.

"Will my email address and password change?
You will use your verizon.net email address, including @verizon.net, as your user name for AOL Mail.

When you register with AOL Mail, you will be prompted to create a new password for your account. This new password will be used to log in to your new AOL Mail account. Your Verizon password will stay the same and will not be impacted by this change."

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
