Verizon 5740 problems...

by dovans / March 2, 2006 7:51 PM PST

I installed a PCMCIA -PCI Adapter card to my Desktop. The Desktop reads the adapter fine. The problem lies when I place the 5740 into the adapter..I get a message that states "The device Ricoh R/RL/RC/ etc....or compatible Cardbus Congroller has detected a Cardbus card in its slot, but the firmware on this system is not configured to allow the Cardbus Controller to be run in CardBus mode. The operating system will currently accept only 16 bit (R2) pc-cards on this controller."

Can I refigure the Firmware to allow a 32 bit pc card?
Or is my OS just too old....(maybe bout 6yrs old...)

the adapter card I am using can be found here

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
