.....on several forums (including here). Verizon will allow folks to keep unlimited data by buying their device at full retail price. If you already have unlimited data, you won't lose it unless you buy the phone at a subsidized price (w/ a new 2 year contract). There is not now, nor has there ever been a "4G data plan". I had the Unlimited data @ $30 with my Droid X and when I upgraded to the Motorola Razr, I kept the same exact feature.
There are no other loopholes.
I'm trying to find a loophole in Verizon's plan to cut us out of unlimited data. Let me know if you think my plan will work, or is just a last ditch effort to not get beaten by Verizon.
I, and probably a lot of people like me, am in a bit of a bind with the whole cutting of unlimited data. I currently have a Droid Incredible, which is 3G and I have unlimited data. I want a Galaxy S3, which is 4G. I am eligible for upgrade July 11, after Verizon moves away from unlimited. If I buy an S3 on July 11, I will not be allowed to upgrade to unlimited 4G data from my current unlimited 3G data correct?
Now, that being said, would it be possible to find a loophole here. If I can get my hands on a 4G phone before June 28, and begin using 4G on my current unlimited plan, will I then be able to upgrade from 4G unlimited to 4G unlimited after the cutoff date? The whole "grandfathered in" thing.
I really hope this is possible. Thanks for hearing my question.
