VCR to Computer, Edit in Ulead

by dressner / July 7, 2007 1:53 AM PDT

Hi, I'm trying to get my old VHS tapes onto my computer and edit them with Ulead Videostudio 10+. I've seen analog to digital devices at stores, but most seem to come with editing programs that I don't want.

Is there a specific name for this kind of device? Where should I try to buy one?

Any camcorder that has Video In. Armed with this and my firewire connection I eject the miniDV tape, connect up the video in and audio in to the camcorder then firewire to the PC. I don't use Ulead for capture you can certainly try it. I then run WINDV to do the capture with the camcorder doing it's passthough and digitizing magic for us.
