Question

Vauxhall corsa has a leakage in the fuel pipe

Hi there. There is a joint between the fuel pipe linking the fuel tank filter and fuel pipe. The joint seems to be leaking oil. How can I go about fixing this?

Oil?

In reply to: Vauxhall corsa has a leakage in the fuel pipe

I googled this model and all are petrol so it looks to me as if the oil is from somewhere else.

My bet is the oil drips from somewhere and traveled to this joint for you to see.

No sorry

In reply to: Oil?

I don't know too much. It is petrol actually and and it comes out in small drips whilst the car is moving. It is definitely coming from the joint.

So it's not Oil? (from top post.)

In reply to: No sorry

If a joint leaks you try to tighten it and if not replace what you can. Because it's Petrol I can't guess what sealants you may try here.

Its not oil

It is petrol. Not oil at all. Petrol is leaking from the joint linking 2 fuel pipes connecting the fuel pump to the fuel filter. Is there any sealant for this or will I have to buy a new joint?

Btw i don't know the technical term but the 'joint' must have another name.

Answer
Fuel leak

In reply to: Vauxhall corsa has a leakage in the fuel pipe

Hi, Carfinder; Pardon my lack of knowledge, being from the Colonies Happy , but when you say Petrol, are you referring to gasoline or diesel? Next question; Does the Vauxhaull have the fuel pump in the tank, or is a mechanical pump mounted on the engine?
btw, I actually drove a Vauxhaull back in the mid-60's that had a 4 spd. manual on the steering column. Also, was the first FWD vehicle I'd ever seen.
I'll check back here tomorrow 01/31/18.
