Hey help... this is my friend notebook. Toshiba protege. The taskbar, desktop all gone. there's no icon on the desktop.. the start button is not there. The only thing i can do it CTRL ALT DEL to show the task manager. From the processes... i noticed the explorer.exe is not running in the processes. So i explored the windows folder by the new task in task manager and found the explorer.exe. Ran the explorer.exe but it just ran for split second and nothing happen. i also tried typing in explorer but with the same outcome. I did sfc /scannow but nothing was found. i tried running internet explorer and it's not working as well... however, surprisingly, i can still surf the net with mozilla firefox. Tried the FixO, no threat found... help.... what's wrong? is it virus... i posted this thread under computer help before being recommended to come here. SInce then, i tried SmithFraud, TAskbar plus etc but still nothing. They thought it might be RavMone virus so i removed the file from windows folder and editted the registry.... Is it virus?
