Alright I threw that at Google and it came back saying murky stuff (as usual). I would keep looking, these are really areas where you have to be exact otherwise the module may be completely useless.
Alright, so I've checked and checked online to no avail, so hopefully someone can help me out. I have a VAIO VGN-A690. The manual says that I should be able to upgrade to a max of 2gb ram. The type of memory inside the laptop is a single Samsung 512mb 2RX16 PC2-3200 module. Now, it says that there are 2 slots available BUT I only see one. Is the other slot hidden and non-removable? And if so, where can I get a single 2gb ram module to install, if it even exists?
Also, when I go to memory-upgrade-specific websites, the only option available are 1gb PC2-4200 modules. Does it matter whether it's a PC2-3200 or PC2-4200?
Sorry for any confusion, but I have been wanting to upgrade this for a while. Thanks in advance!
