VAIO laptop battery run out : all my documents are gone !

by xingr / December 15, 2007 4:48 PM PST

I left my new VAIO laptop (VGN SZ 437N) on sleep mode.
The battery ran out in the meantime and two days after, as I restart the computer, it takes a long time to load and consider my existing user profile as a new one : all my documents folders are empty

I check the event log in the administration section and it mentions this critical error due to battery running out while in sleep mode.

What can I do ? Are all my files lost ?

I contacted Sony technical support to ask them the same question. Any help will be appreciated.

Did anyone bring up the subject of backup since you began using computers?

Never write anything to that hard disk since it will make recovery nearly impossible. We remove the drive to be but into some USB case then take a look with ZERO ASSUMPTION RECOVERY and GETDATABACK.

We never install any software since it will over write those files we want back.
