I have not tried any of these programs. But it made me search for a fantastic program I had many years ago BBSEE where the author ending up giving programming away as the registered users he had barely covered programming tool costs. It had catalogued all my floppy disks. Located him years later and he said I am enjoying my internetting now. This article is back in 1991.

Many good programs are lost this way when authors do not get any rewards for their efforts.
I hope you find a good one in this list-but have not been looking. If you do let me know - I could find it useful as well.
Does anyone know of a good program to use to keep track of files saved on CDs? I'd like to be able to archive files to a CD, and then save a directory listing of all the files, including all the folders and sub-folders. I could then search for files on CD's just as if they were in a separate hard drive on my computer. The program would keep track of which CDs have been cataloged, and when I find the file I want, it would tell me which CD to put in the drive to open the file. HP used to have a utility with some of its external CD-ROM drives, but I recall that it was very cumbersome and slow, and tied up the Windows Explorer when you tried to search for files. Any ideas for a utility with features similar to what I've described?
