using Sony DVD403 as a Webcam with MSN Messanger

Dec 14, 2005 2:28PM PST

Is it possible to use Sony DVD403 as a Webcam with MSN Messenger and if so how. My operating system is Windows XP on a Toshiba laptop Satellite A60, model no.: psa60c-jl100e. Thanks.

So far I know, the DVD403 does not have webcam functionality. However, if you have an analogue TV-PC card with a AV-in port then you can connect the cam to this port. With the correct VfW-Driver(wideo for windows) the TV-card will be recognized as a ''capture-device''(like a webcam) and Microsoft netmeeting can defenitely use it to transfer the video.
I have tested this and it works.
