using sonic mydvd to edit videos

Hi. I have just recieved a dell xps gen 5 with a dvd burner. I want to know if i can use sonic mydvd which came with the computer to take out scenes of a video. Is this possible??? If not, what program can i use to edit the video and take out scenes?

While my copy of MyDVD is a bundled job with some drive, I hesitate to call it a "video editor." Take a look at the demos at Ulead.com to see if you want to pick up a video editor software package.
