Using Outlook with an Outlook Exchange Server

Mar 4, 2006 5:39AM PST

My email at work is through an exchange server, and most users access their mail through a web-based version of Outlook. I have a user who wanted to be able to e-mail directly from Office applications so I installed Outlook on her machine.

It works fine, but the program downloaded all of her messages from the server. When she tries to access her web-based Outlook from another computer, there is nothing there.

How do I return the downloaded messages to the server from her computer and set up Outlook so messages are always left on the server? I assume I just missed a setting or two during configuration.

I should note that I'm using MS Server 2003. The client machine is running XP SP2.

Had a look.

In the configuration of my Exchange account here at work (Outlook XP), I found in email-accounts> edit> more settings> external mail the 'download items' radiobox unchecked. That could be it, although I'm far from sure.
