Using File Shredder

I want to delete all the files on one of my computers and I am going to use File Shredder. Besides for using it on the local c drive, should i also use it on the recovery partition (and will that mess up any settings or will it just delete my personal files)?

Once your files are shredded, what do you want to do?

If you delete all of the files, everything is gone and you machine won't boot. Do you plan to re-install the OS and do you have the necessary recovery media? Nothing normally resides on the recovery partition except what the factory installation put there and you may need it to rebuild your HD.
