Using broken laptop monitor as monitor for another laptop

I have an old laptop which motherboard is broken. So I tought, since the monitor/screen works, if I could use it as an external monitor for my current laptop.

Although in principle it should be possible, it requires you to implement a VGA or HDMI or DVI connection on that broken laptop or in a new case for the screen. That's not something you'll find instructions for anywhere on the web. But it might be a nice project for a student of electronic engineering.

But the engineering needed is never the same from model to model. It's non-standard so your engineer and tech have quite a lot of research to do.
