Question

Using an old SCSI Zip 100 machine

Aug 28, 2015 3:52AM PDT

I have many Zip 100 discs with lots of research and resources material I would like to access. I have a PCMCIA card that my SCSI drive connected to but the Olivetti Laptop with the PCMCIA slot departed many years ago. Is there a way of using the Iomega drive in a modern machine with USB sockets?

Regards

Tom

You can google that. SCSI also needs a controller so maybe the needed hardware is embedded and can use the USB power. Drivers might also be needed but it does appear that the basic connection hardware is out there.

Long ago we had those. Since we saw the end we copied all content off the Zip 100 disks then an employee that wanted such took it all away.

There is an USB Zip 100 model that may be less trouble and cheaper than getting your SCSI working. I'd shop for that on the usual sites. The last time we did this on Windows 7 the USB version was plug and play. No drivers had to be found on the web.
