There are three systems in Europe, Pal-I for the UK, PAL-B/G for the most of Europe and SECAM For France. As you can see, your UK system is different from the rest of Europe and completely different from the french system. So the answer would be, don't bather taking it to France it wil not work.I was an International Truckdriver, and I had a special tv that could receive all European systems but these are too expensive if you stay in france only. You are better off buying one in France. If you want to know what the differences are, look it up in Wikipedia. Succes.

Thanks all,

I had found this out on my recent trip to France. I dont suppose an English freeview box would pick up the TNT signal ? Also as it is has a communal satelite reception to the properties if I got a satelite receiver box it would only receive minimal UK stations as it is set to Astra 19.
Thanks
