Your Yamaha has 2 optical audio inputs, So use optical output from your d.v.d. player and sat or cable box that should work, Also I have never heard this Yamaha speaker system so I cannot coment. I have a 7.1 Atlantic Technology 4200 system that took days to hook up lots of work but was well worth it, anyway please post back and let us know how it works out for you have a nice day stewart
I know one of the advantages of having the Yamaha YSP-800 sound projecter is that you don't need an A/V receiver, however I already had one before I bought the speaker so now I'm looking for help in using them together. The CNET review notes that they preferred using a receiver with this speaker as well. I have an Onkyo TX-SR803 receiver and need to know how to connect the speaker to it to utilize the speakers features. I had someone from an A/V store come hook all my equipment up, but he had never dealt with the YSP-800 and he said he could only hook it up to give me stereo sound, not surround sound. Can someone help me with the hook up?
