Using A/V connection to view cable television

I connected my tv to my vrc/dvd player so i can watch cable tv, but i can't get past channel 14. What's going on? Is there anything i can do to fix it?

Which one is the cable tuner???

The VCR??? You have to change the set up in the VCR for OTA tuning to cable tuning. John

all we can do is guess as to your connection/s configuration. How about more informations? We don't mind reading long posts.

What your equipments are capable of because I have a dvd recorder, vcr, sat.box connecting to the tv with no problem.
