Wouldn't a 20 dollar router be a better solution as tablets so far don't have the design to be as good a hotspot as a 20 dollar router?
As to 4G, that's a clue maybe you have some cellular data plan. Those companies usually sell the 4G Hotspot that works much better and is supported. Your idea, while OK would have no support.
I have not found an answer to this question in my searches in this forum. I want to use a dedicated tablet as a hotspot for my home wifi. I would be tethering no more than 2 laptops at any 1 time and that would be for surfing only. I would be possibly streaming some movies to a chromecast device from slingtv. My question is whether or not the speed of the dedicated tablet matters?
For example, if I purchase a tablet that accepts 4g speeds, will this provide a smoother streaming experience than one of 3g? does it matter when tethering? I will be using tmo service provider if it makes a difference. and am deciding between an irulu tab (3g) and an alcatel tab(4g), both 7 inch. the irulu is os 4.1 and the alcatel is 5.1
Thx for any observations and input on how to do this efficiently.
