and have both on different wifi channels at opposite end of spectrum. Make sure you have two connections set for each android which it can use when available.
Hi everyone,
I am having a little trouble setting up a second router at my parents house.
I have no network experience so please be kind!
So, in the front of the house they have the TalkTalk Plus Fibre router. I have run a cat6 ethernet cable into the back of the house and plugged it into an old Linksys WRK45G router.
Inside the Linksys router I have changed the ip to 192.168.1.2 (as the TalkTalk router is 192.168.1.1), I have changed the WiFi channel to 1 (as the TalkTalk router is 6) and turned off the DHCP server.
Everything seemed to work okay but then suddenly the WiFi cut out for all Android devices connected to the Linksys... strangely the Laptop still connected via WiFi.
I fixed this issue by unplugging the ethernet cable from port 1 and plugging it back into port 2 but again, after a couple of hours we lost connection.
Both routers have a different WiFi name and password.
Am I missing out something here?
Any help will be appreciated.
