OS: Windows 2000/NT Professional
Office 2000 Professional loaded
As an administrator, I log on and can work normally, save to the desktop, no problem.
A user who has full administrative priveliges logs on to their user name, an error message appears: "Control Panel: An error occued while windows was working with the CP file C:\windows\system32\setnote.cpl" Clicking OK launches the screen "Getting started with Windows 2000 professional." Clicking Exit launches "Windows installer". ANy work that this user creates on the desktop is deleted each time they log off.
Each time they log on, the same 3 things happen - Control Panel error, Getting started screen appears, then windows installer launches. And, then nothing saves to the desktop.
Any thoughts on what's happening? I've checked the user registry key, and it is pointed at the right place.
Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly
Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
