Start with the Anti-Parasite suite.

Run all 5 programs mentioned in http://tips.oncomputers.info/archives2003/0311/2003-nov-16.htm.

Use google to find the current download address for cwshredder.

If all 5 programs say you're clean and the problem still isn't solved, post again mentioning your OS. And give the full error messages without typos. And tell more on the version of IE (5.5SP2, 6.0) and when you exactly get the kernel32 errors.

Explorer has caused and error in user.exe

1. And, the Details from such a message?

2. Please note that just above the text editor (where you enter a question on the forum) is the following paragraph, and if certain information is not present in your question, our reply may not be of much help:

Tip: If you are asking for help to troubleshoot a computer-related problem, please be sure to include all the necessary information (ie: operating system, model number, hardware, software, etc) that will help others identify your problem for a speedy resolution.

3. The article [Q307908] discusses and covers several areas concerning problems when a user clicks OK or Cancel to quit the Sounds and Multimedia tool in CP and state that a computer may stop responding (hang) or display error message. The problem described can occur if the Sounds and Multimedia tool improperly destroys a shared resource while it is cleaning up Graphics Device Interface (GDI) resources, which I believe could happen anytime anywhere. Even though MS supposedly have patched Windows for this anomaly, the process I would suggest otherwise is to uninstall and then reinstall the appropriate modules as dissussed in this article.

4. The article [Q192832] discusses a situation that when using the System File Checker (Sfc.exe) tool to restore a file (for example, the User.exe, Gdi.exe, Setupx.dll or Krnl386.exe file) from a cabinet (.cab), the wrong version of the file may be extracted.

Went through your reply, so here goes my latest.

I have Windows millieum, I just upgraded Internet Explorer from 6.0.2600.0000 to 6.0.2800.1106. Thinking this might help the error messages I get when surfing the net. I have an HP pavillion 8756C.

The most recent error message states:
Explorer in the blue border.
Explorer has caused an error in user.exe. If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer.
The error freezes up the internet and have no chocie but to click on the close button. I restart, however this annoying error I find sometime I'm restarting more than surfing. The error varies, sometimes after closing pop up adds, going to the tool bar such as Edit or Favorites, sometimes just regular surfing of internet pages. (happened twice trying to get back here, a cnet.com.

The "kernel32" error doesn't happen very often. Except today after I upgraded to the new IE version. After the user.exe error, closed out and took me back to my desktop a WHITE (previously a windows blue box) box appeared:
Explorer
Kernel 32 caused a general protection fault in module user.exe at 0003:00000FDD.
I rebooted again.
