If you don't like the security warnings you CAN turn off UAC by going to control panel and security, but it does serve a security purpose. No drive by down loads etc.
On many programs, to launch them you right click and select "run as administrator" and give your permission when asked.
You simply have to get used to it and it only takes a second to click the permissions dialogue box.
I have used Vista since May 2006, starting with Beta2 and each release through the final release and I use it with ease as my actions have become almost automatic. The same will happen for you if you hang in and get used to it. It's a learning process.
