Useing a Player

Thought id try to find & listen to some music on the internet. Im apparently as novice as can be in finding a site to go to, for the purpose of example: "selecting an indivdual song to listen to"
OR download "if I have to download?"
I have no intentions of saving or copying any music, is there such a site to do this at?
Sorry if this is a novice, non tech type question but Im just not finding such a place and Im sure most people must be creating their own personal type cd's or whatever the deal is. I dont know anything about whats leagal and illegal sorry if Im behind on the music scene. Please suggest a few help tips and pointers in this matter THANKS! In advance.

Actually Im on dialup so viewing mpg's for example its faster for me to "save target as" instead of waiting for one to load/play. (Very few even allow this and it is very annoying to say the least) My only advantage in the matter is my ISP has a HUGE Cashe making download's alot faster when useing the proxy server.
I dont think it is helpful in regaurds to QT, WMP, Real Player & etc when selecting auto configueration, but I really dont know.
