It is a BIOS password that came be cleared easily. On up the case and look for a row if switches. One of those resets the password. If you look on the board next to the switches, you should see what each switch represents. Also look for a sticker that also contains a diagram of the switches. Once you locate the correct switch, move it to the on position and turn on the pc for a few seconds. Turn it off and move the switch to the off position then turn on the pc. The password should be erased now.
I have a preowned hp vectra vl compter.
but the they lift they old password .
i change the hard drive, an reboot up an it's still ask for password .
