use to work??

I get software from download.Com,(have been for years) recently the download starts but won'tn finish. In windows task manger it shows that it is running. I let it set there for quite awhile, nothing happened. Some times after I reboot it will work once, you never know. I have another hp all most the same as this one, hardware and software the same,it works ok.
Have not added any software or hardware for over a year.
Windows xp-sp2
Hp pavilion a1230n
320 gp hard drive
AMD 4 processor
1 gb ram
1 run zone alarm security suite and keep it up to date and run it often.

I had a few members also say they were having trouble downloading programs. I tried it, it hanged there for a small period of time and then it finished.

Plesae send the report in. In the meantime, if you can tell us what you were trying to download, maybe we can help you.

Anti-malware programs such as Spybot1.4/ AVG Free Anti-Spy 7.5 & or use Online Scan such as Housecalls.
On numerous occasions, posters have reported malware detections in various Download.com downloads (some may have been false positives)but that would be my first check (particularly say any D/L in last 2 weeks).
D.C only hosts them and doesn't assert they're clean nor take any blame if they're not. Always right click scan w/ AV/AS any saved download before opening. Good Luck!
