gave you wrong information. Their advice applies to Win XP Pro only. XP home only supports simple file sharing so there is no option. If you didn't copy the backup file to removable media, I don't think you can access it. This is due to a new SID or security identifier being created when you re-installed XP.

I recently re-installed Windows XP Home Edition on my computer. A folder called My Backup was created but I can?t access the My Backup/Documents and Settings/User Name/My Documents folder. I get the error message: C:/My Backup/Documents and Settings/User Name/My Documents is not accessible. Accesss is denied.
Microsoft Help and Support says:
1. Double click My Computer on the desktop
2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
3. Click the View tab, and then select the Use Simple File Sharing (Recommended) check box to turn on Simple File Sharing.
My problem is that the Use Simple File Sharing box is not in the list so I don?t have that option.
Any help will be appreciated.
