Question

Use of an integrated DVB-S satellite tuner

Jul 22, 2013 4:35AM PDT

Hi,

I am considering bying the LG 32LN575S LED TV set.
It features 3 tuners amongst which a DVB-S satellite tuner.
Is this tuner exclusively to be used for watching TV on a PC or can it be used to watch satellite channels on the TV set directly ?

Thank you in advance for your clear answer,

Lautrerable

I don't see how this would be used by a PC.

DVB-S integrated satellite tuner

Hi,

The documentation reads (translated from french):
"This TV set is equiped with a satellite tuner that allows you, by means of a PCMCIA (optional) adapter and an optional card, to skip an external satellite receiver."

I understand from this that one can use the tuner to feed into a PC properly configured, but what interests me is whether the tuner is operational with the TV set itself.
The documentattion is not clear. Forget PCs.

Thanks,

Try thinking about it like this.

If the maker and seller won't answer if such works together then the answer must be no. But the quick look I found on this card was no PC drivers or any connection. I may have missed that use but the page at the maker's site never mentioned a PC.

No vendor support is here so why not make this a clear question to maker and outlet?

PC ?

You just put direct coax cable from your sat.dish (& LNB) into your TV, and voila - you watch all you scan from sattelitesHappy

Some TVs even support rotor DiSEqC protocol, for riding/choosing different satelites in the sky. Not sure if your model is the one.
