In the Encryption, use pop.gmail.com as the Incoming and smtp.gmail.com as the Outgoing domains.
Also, you need to download and install the Thawte Server CA Certificate and Thawte Premium Server Certificates (both free and can be downloaded)
Keep in mind that you cannot send mails from Gmail on the phone as the mail client dows not support some security settings required for GMail.
I?m having problems getting my e-mail account set up on my phone. I have a Sony Ericsson S710a (through Cingular), and I use Google?s Gmail. I got the $20/month unlimited Media Net package through Cingular. Here are the settings on my phone for this account:
Connect Using: Media Net
Incoming Server: pop.gmail.com
Incoming Port: 995
Encryption: Incoming Server: SSL, Domain: ? - Outgoing Server: TLS, Domain: ?
Mailbox: *my username*
Password: *my password*
Outgoing Server: stmp.gmail.com
Outgoing Port: 587
Email Address: *my e-mail address*
Download: Headers & Text
I don't know what to put for ''domain''. I've tried several things including www.google.com and gmail.google.com, but nothing's worked. When I try to get it to ?send and receive? my inbox or send a message, it says ''TSL/SSL Handshake failure''. What have I done wrong?
Thanks a lot.
