I hope that "opened" doesn't mean "opened the case and messed around inside". Just "started".

- All USB's on the motherboard? Or are there on the front-side or on a separate PCI-card, also not working?
- What devices did you try? Like printer, mouse, keyboard, USB-stick, internal hard disk. An optical mouse, for example, should light up on the USB-power. Does it? If you've got a USB-printer connected and try to print to it, what exactly happens (what error message?)

The worst-case scenario, probably, is buying and installing PCI USB-card.

Things to try:
- System Restore back to when it still worked (should help if it's some software issue)
- clean install of the OS or system recovery to factory conditions (should surely help if it's a software issue)
- add PCI USB2-card to replace failing ports
- replace motherboard

One or more of these should help. It's up to you to find out the cheapest and easiest ones.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
