USB2 on Windows XP SP3 System

Hi,
Can some one help me in respect to the above. I have a laptop by Wiscom Technology which was purchased in 2006. The system information indicates to me that it is USB2 capable however,I do not see a enhanced host controller for same in the device manager. Furthermore, I also do not see "other" in the device manager either.

Can you please help.
Thanks,
Shammy

Have you tested it?

Have you test it? Regardless of what it says in the device manager or anywhere else, have you actually tried plugging in a USB 2.0 device to see what happens?

Just checking.

Who installed Windows? Most forget or don't know about the nearly dozen drivers you need after you are done with the Microsoft CD. Tell me exactly which drivers you installed after the OS was completed.

Thanks for your prompt reply.I have checked and every time I use Verizon Wireless Modem or a USB2 flash drive I always get a message stating the USB will work at reduced speed.
If you have the time you could please e-mail me direct at shammyr@msn.com.

Sometimes ports go bad

In reply to: Regarding USB 2

Sometimes ports go bad and either stop working or drop down to USB 1.1 only. When that happens, there's really nothing you can do about it. All you can do is just go out and get a USB 2.0 add-on card and run a cable up to a hub or something.
