USB Webcam on Fedora Core 3 - Logitech Quickcam Zoom

Dec 29, 2005 5:38AM PST

I am having trouble getting any webcam to work with my current Linux version - as i know many people are. The logitech camera is a pain as support ceased for a while, and for newer linux releases a bit hit & miss. I know an IP camera setup is a better bet or analogue using a TV capture card, but does anyone out there know when USB webcams will eventually work with "non-doctored" kernels? It seems that Linux is great in many areas now, but not for some USB devices - just seems a bit odd to me. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Thanks,

I haven't tried other Linux versions yet, as I need the machine operational. Will keep trying though....
