USB Storage woes

Aug 19, 2007 12:53AM PDT

Hello folks

I'm not sure what it is, but recently I seem to be noticing a lot more instability around my 32-bit Vista Business laptops regarding plugging in, removing or copying files to USB storage. The error is usually an IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. In fact, I'd say it's got to a stage where it's almost as bad as Mac OS X, where I had a storage related error around once a week to once a fortnight per machine. As I said, it's a fairly recent occurence - perhaps two months or so.

Has anyone else noticed this? Any ideas as to why this might be and how to stabilise the system? All of the laptops that I've been experiencing errors of this type have not had any hardware changes before I started noticing the additional instability.
